We went to the Washington State Fairgrounds today for a spring fair
There was water pump rubber duck racing in the kids’ tent
And an amazing sandbox filled with seed corn
It was Hazel’s dream to try cotton candy
It got extra bonus points for being pink
And I feel compelled to mention that we didn’t come close to finishing it

Lucius begged and begged till he could try cotton candy last year in Florida. After a couple of bites he declared “not what I expected”. He declined more (not breaking our hearts, of course.) It was fun to watch the candy makers wash the excess down the sink. It just: evaporates!
