Exploring side trails at Snake Lake

This was the biggest painted rock we’ve seen yet. Landry looked beneath it for bugs

We spent the morning at Olympic National Park

This year we hiked the Rapids Loop Trail counterclockwise (In 2016 we did it clockwise)

There was lots of rushing water

(Hazel made it across by herself!)

We hiked way down there to the water (See Hazey?)

Another trek down to the river brought us to some soft grey sand

Still two years old but trying out three

This trick involves sliding straight through Supey’s legs!

Hazel got this fairy garden house for her birthday and the seeds are sprouting! (Click here to see her carefully watering with a tiny watering can.)

This one is from yesterday — he told an incredibly long story while drawing

You might not know that woodpeckers live in rock caves and like pebbles to be thrown into their homes

Inventing a mischievous beach ball game that involves aiming for her brother’s face (and, thankfully, totally willing to have the ball aimed at her face too)

This is what happens when the big sister pays more attention to the doll than to her brother

Let the 2017 day trip season commence!

Landry was quite intrigued by the mineral springs outside this 1899 cabin at Longmire

All lined up and looking springy….

…Until we hit this winter wonderland at a higher elevation!

There are still 141 inches of snow at Paradise, including 11 that fell this week!! (Here was 2016 in the snow at Paradise.)
