Daily updates, coming soon

Though it seems NaBloPoMo is no longer limited to just the month of November, I am going to participate next month, as I did last year.

This time around I have an Ace in the hole because I could just post a picture of adorable Oliver any time I can’t think of something to write about.

Don’t think I’ve forgotten about the meat poll.  Also don’t think that I base decisions about my health on a poll of my friends and loved ones, but most people felt a little meat might do me some good.  I agree.  I will give it another try.  Sometime.

Corn maze

For the second weekend in a row, I headed out of the city for some harvest fun. Davis Farmland Mega Maze delivered. This tube slide alone was worth the trip.

Laura, Peter and Katie try to figure out what the heck we’re doing.

The goal was to make it through the maze, crossing 11 bridges in the process. I think we managed 6 or 7 bridges. I was happy just to make it back out.

Mom’s visit

Though Grammy Linda (as my Mom is now known) was only here for a long weekend, we got a lot of fun accomplished. Actually, we (meaning Mom) got a lot of chores accomplished too. She irons, she washes dishes, she mends and tailors clothes, she helps make Halloween cookies, and she helps fix vacuum cleaners!

We went for a hayride, picked some pumpkins and drank cider in Harvard, MA.

We took a stroll around Walden Pond.

Come back any time, Mom! And I’m not just saying that because of all the work you did while you were here.

Meat, no meat, meat, no meat

Time to admit the truth.  I ate a turkey sandwich on my trip to the Pacific coast.  Okay, okay, it was a club sandwich, bacon piled high atop the turkey.

In case anybody is unawares, I haven’t been eating meat for about four years now.  Being off the wagon (or back on, depending on your point of view) left me feeling ill.  Now that could also be attributed to the copious amounts of bacon I had at breakfast the following morning.  Or to my generally unbalanced stomach.  Add traveling into the mix and I can’t be certain how much the meat eating contributed to my getting a little sick.

I will say that the meat kept me feeling full for a really, really long time.  So, even though I will most likely be giving meat another try, what do you think?
