Family of three getaway

To the beach!

There were huge waves our first day! Hazel thought they were way too loud

Showing off a treasure….there were lots of ocean treasures of course!

Our room was this close to the beach! (Pretty sure we’ve never slept so close to the ocean!)

Day two: we visited the swimming pool the minute it opened (steamy lens!)

Super kiddie pool, only 18 inches deep

All worn out and warmed up

Then back to the beach

Hazel spent the whole trip embellishing this castle with shells and rocks

Last big outing of day two: playground!

Taking orders through the lighthouse window

Funny that we left the beach only to find more sand to play in

Day three: short but sweet, getting in a morning story

Last hurrah

Friends in town

The yoshino cherry trees are in full bloom at the library playground

It’s been a year since Hazel and Clementine have seen each other but they got along famously again, including more hand holding!

Three kids were a lot to keep track of at the Public Garden, but here’s the whole kiddo gang in one frame

Tools of various trades

Binoculars!

Hazel thought Grammy’s yoga mat made a perfect picnic blanket

Working on pedaling…briefly

Then moving on to sand

And and castle/cake decorating

And dredging

Apparently the urge to redirect streams skipped a generation

The sun came out and so did the tools

Making repairs really helped Hazel forge a new relationship with “my buddy” the bike

Forest on the brink of spring

Hazel anxiously awaiting Sutton and Clare’s arrival

Visiting a lonely daffodil inside a logged-off area

Stalking wild turkeys (you can barely see one between the trees ahead of Hazel, slightly to the left)

Using Supey as a walking stick

Dashing downhill to Turtle Pond

Sutton and Clare kept Hazel in good supply of sticks to toss into the pond

Hazel was promised mud, and mud we found

The goats in the background are working goats. Mission: eat everything inside the fence…and they were!

Early grocerying

One good thing about hitting the grocery store in its opening hour is we can give Hazel some latitude to push the cart by herself

Play area revisited

The Sensory Tree play area of the farm is open again after having been closed ALL winter

Hazel said thorough hellos to every nook, cranny and spider

Trying!

Making contact!

Touching a not-yet uncurled plant, possibly a small fern

Deep woods leaf stomper

Who doesn’t love a bridge?

Plane house

Hazel’s pink house makes a good place for planes to convalesce after accidents
